Lovebirds: Discover the top 5 tips for caring them.

Like parrots and budgerigars belong to the psittacine family of birds.

They develop a very strong connection with their mates. These birds come from Africa, so they need a warm environment in which to live.

Like all birds, this breed has certain peculiarities that must be followed in order for them to grow and live for many years. Read on to find out more about them!

- Give them company and attention

As we have already mentioned, lovebirds form strong bonds and need constant company. If one member of a pair dies, they need to be replaced as soon as possible. If you want to create larger groups, always try to allow them to pair up.

Always treat them with affection and peace of mind, you will be the best of friends!

- Let it fly

These birds need a bit of freedom. Open the cage once a day (keep the windows closed!!!). This way they can stretch their legs, fly around and browse - they love music and playing!

- Cage outside or near a window

Light is essential for birds. When the weather is nice, take them out into your garden so they can breathe fresh air and when the temperatures are cold, bring them indoors, but always near a window.

- Food and fresh water

It is very important that they always have fresh water in their cage. In summer make sure this is the case. Change it every day so that it does not stagnate, and bacteria can grow.

As for their food, there are a wide variety of specific products for lovebirds. Ideally, supplement their diet with minerals and vitamins. Occasionally give them fruit and vegetables, but in moderation.

- Toys

Lovebirds need constant stimulation, so don't forget to provide them with toys; you can also place twigs inside their cage for them to jump and wear out their nails and beak.

We at Jardinpet hope these tips will be useful for the care of your lovebirds, so please let us know if you have any other ideas!
