Fat Liver in canaries

Fat Liver in canaries

One of the most common and fatal pathologies in canaries is the excess of fat in the liver of the animal.

One of the reason why canaries develop fat liver is the diet which is most of time too rich in proteins and fat. We’re used to give them diet based on mixtures of seeds that are binging proteins and fat and even we add sometimes fat soluble vitamins. This creates an important layer of fat inside the liver reducing normal functioning.

To avoid such situations, the best for the birds should be to give them only  adapted granules with a balance of proteins carbohydrate, fat and vitamins.

This single precaution would allow to avoid most of non-infectious diseases that are affecting the liver and this would allow this organ to be stronger and healthier to fight infectious diseases as well.
